Dear Chapel Art Centre goers, Supporters, Agencies & Artists
I hope you are all still keeping well.
As you may be aware – all venues are still closed with no sign of the government offering further financial support. This has particularly affected small non-government or charity supported venues, and because of that, we are threatened with potential closure if extra funds don’t materialize soon.
Please be assured that if you have purchased tickets, or have yet to purchase (perhaps), your tickets are secured and ring-fenced and therefore protected.
If you are not already aware, we started a crowdfunding project on 25th April for which we were aiming to raise £20,000. This was set up for us through MVT (Music Venue Trust) for an initial period of 14 days, however, MVT under the current difficult circumstances very kindly agreed to extend our deadline to 1st September. This was good news bearing in mind the Music/Entertainment Industry will be one of the last businesses to exit lock-down, and even then, we don’t yet know if any of the events will be viable to go ahead if ticket sales don’t substantially improve, or our customers don’t feel confident to come to our venue, so hopefully this opportunity will give us more much needed time to meet our target.
I would like to apologize in advance if you are emailed regarding this more than once, since I am using my customer list to email you all, and some of our regulars may receive more than one email, so sorry about that!
