Rosie G is a Bristol native and a wonderful songwriter. With a timbre of voice that is as haunting as it is calming, and a finessed approach to guitar reminiscent to that of Nick Drake and John Martyn, she creates lilting, heartfelt & melodic compositions.
Stylistically influenced by roots music from either side of the Atlantic, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jack Cookson combines dry-yet-visceral wordplay with intricate finger-style guitar arrangements in a (futile) attempt to sing about his feelings in a unique way.
“An astonishing lyricist and songwriter immersed simultaneously in ancient tradition and 21st century sensibilities” – Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
