Born in Scotland, Fraser’s love of music began as a teenager when he witnessed the tragic death of a young man. To process the extremity of the experience he began songwriting in the back of school books as a form of therapy.
By nineteen he was married with kids. Working around the clock he found rare moments to write songs. It wasn’t long before Scottish folk legend Dougie McLean invited Anderson to join his band. This influenced his acclaimed debut album ‘And the Girl with the Strawberry, which was recorded and released in Perth, Scotland in 2003
Fraser moved to rural France in 2005 to raise his family. In 2006 he launched his second album, Coming Up For Air, hailed as “Truly beautiful” by BBC R2’s Bob Harris.
In 2010 he released his Third album Little Glass Box, featuring the legendary Danny Thompson on double bass (John Martyn) “Quite brilliant” – Folk Radio.
Support tours have included Joan Armatrading, Pete Doherty, Italian artist Niccolo Fabi, and the legendary Chuck Berry on his 2010 European tour.
Fraser then divorced and moved to Bristol where he released Under the Cover of Lightness in 2016 which was voted album of the week by BBC Radio Ulster.
Likened to Damien Rice, Nick Drake, Bon Iver and Joni Mitchel’s melodic movement, Fraser’s poetic honesty weaves throughout his music.
Audiences have described his live performances as deeply moving and uplifting.
