Recently described as “flawless, stylish and captivating” (The Critic, Brighton Argus), Edana Minghella is a highly successful jazz vocalist, regularly playing at festivals and to full houses at home and abroad.
Her debut CD, Still on my Feet, was dedicated to her brother, Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella. Her second album, All or Nothing, was launched at London’s famous Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho last year to wide acclaim. A collection of songs from Billie Holiday’s extensive repertoire, the album showcases Edana’s great strengths: raw emotion and an astonishing capacity to touch her audience deeply.
Playing tonight with her fabulous musicians – Mark Edwards (piano), Pete Maxfield (double bass) and Lee Goodall (alto sax) – Edana celebrates Billie Holiday with songs from the album and beyond, and stories from Billie’s short but inspirational life.
A must for everyone who loves the power of music and story-telling.
“An extraordinary artist with a beautiful and distinctive voice.” Margaret Bryant, Devizes Arts.
“A magical event. 5 stars.” Latest Magazine
“’All or Nothing’ is fantastic from start to end.” Alan Musson, Jazz Breakfast
