Rosie Brown and her band are coming to Chapel Arts with their eagerly anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Detail From a Dream’ (2022), hot off the press.
Weaving folk, jazz and blues influences, with glimpses of Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake and vintage John Martyn, the band expresses a musical sensibility all of its own. Drawing on country, 60s surf and classical, this is beguiling and intricate music, filmic and funky, full of emotion. Songs with surfaces light and shimmering, evocative of landscape, love, loss, darkness and light.
It’s more than two decades since Rosie began her songwriting adventures. Recognised as a major talent from the start, her seductive vocals and quirkily crafted lyrics found a natural home alongside Bernd’s intriguing musical arrangements and brilliant guitar work. Their music has garnered much praise in the music press:

Sounding like the close-knit collective that they are, Rosie and Bernd continue to call on the exceptional talents of Simon Russell (bass) and Paul May (drums) to create a mesmerising sonic picture.
This show will be the full four-piece Rosie Brown Band experience, featuring songs from their new album, ‘Detail From a Dream’ (2022), as well as choice favourites from their previous critically acclaimed albums: ‘By the Blue’ (2001); ‘Clocks and Clouds’ (2004); ‘Strange Recollection’ (2009).
