Somewhere Over England, along with Tears For Fears, The Korgis and Naked Eyes emerged from the Bath local music scene of the 1980s – probably the greatest period for popular music in the city.
One of the most popular bands in Bath at the time, Somewhere Over England finally gained recognition and chart success in 1991 not in the UK but in Spain with their huge melodic summer epic ‘If I Ever Fall in Love ‘which was one of the longest charting hits in that country, finally reaching the No 1 slot in September of that year and remaining one of the most iconic tracks from that unique era.
Successive tours in Spain cemented the bands reputation as one of the great British live acts of the time.
On the night, the band will be playing songs from the 1980’s to the present day to a backdrop of hand-crafted films.
‘One of the best gigs of 2019,’ Ed Norman sound Manager at The Chapel, Bath.
