Steepways present the debut performance of ‘The Road To Altamont’: A six song concept piece inspired by the first summer of love. Themes from the Vietnam war, counter culture, revolution across America and Europe and the fateful events at the Altamont Festival.
Steepways are an original five piece Americana band based in Bristol. They have played with Wreckless Eric, The Coal Porters, Jason Ringenberg and The Orphan Colours to name but a few.
After three years spent writing songs and performing across the UK, their debut album, HOLY SMOKE was recorded in 1 month in Summer 2016.
Working with award-winning Americana producer and player, Chris Clarke (Reservoir Studios/Danny and the Champions of the World), HOLY SMOKE is full of great performances including guest spots from Andy Fairclough and Siobhan Parr.
Reviews for Holy Smoke:
Exceptionally well crafted, “Holy Smoke” really scores, because it is stunning! British Americana doesn’t get much better than this! 8/10 Maximum Volume Music
A strong first album from songwriting duo, Blair Chadwick and Charlie Bateson. There is much to enjoy on this album. Americana UK
