Join us for a journey through the swing era as we explore the stories behind its greatest songs.
From Hollywood to Broadway and beyond, the Great American Songbook endures, delights and surprises us to this day. Its authors are some of the most brilliant alchemists of words and music the world will ever see.
Names like Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and others wrote hits for such luminaries as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Nina Simone, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Billie Holliday, Nat King Cole and the rest. But how did they do it? What inspired them?
Popular live band and cultural historians the Foxes take us on a journey through their times, their words, their stories, their songs, their genius.
From hot jazz and breezy ring-a-ding swing to world-weary torch songs, the Foxes play us a musical essay on the human condition – with music to move both the heart and feet.
