SEATED CABARET
A first show at Chapel Arts on their major UK tour.
Suthering are a fearless queer duo whose emotionally charged songwriting tackles politics, mental health, feminism and LGBTQ+ rights with warmth, humour and unshakable honesty.
Following years of extensive touring, sold-out headline shows and appearances at major UK festivals, Suthering have earned a reputation as one of the most compelling live acts on the contemporary folk scene. Their performances are built around soaring vocal harmonies, breathtaking moments of a Capella, and an intimate blend of piano, finger-style guitar, whistles and flutes that can captivate a festival crowd as effortlessly as they can hold a a room in pin-drop silence.

Their 2024 album Leave A Light On, produced Sean Lakeman, marked a bold evolution in sound, weaving pop And indie influences in to their fold roots. Hailed by the national press as “absolutely spellbinding”, the record combines deeply personal songwriting with modern protest. Lead single Maggie inspired by the overturning of Roe v. Wade, is a stirring anthem for bodily autonomy and social justice.
Beyond the stage, Julu and Heg are the founders of Tavistock Pride, extending their commitment to equality far beyond their music by creating spaces that celebrate and support LGBTQ+ communities and other marginalised voices.
Currently writing their third studio album, Suthering continue to push the boundaries of contemporary fold with songs of protest, pride, hope and belonging. Whether performing on an intimate acoustic stage or in front of a festival audience, they leave listeners inspired, connected and wanting more.
