East Nashville based musician Tim Easton tours the UK for the first time in over 5 years in support of his new album ‘American Fork’.

Born within a stones throw of the Niagara River in Upstate New York and raised in Akron, Ohio, Tim learned American Folk music and the history of Rock & Roll from the record collections of his older brothers and sisters-plus the various albums his Mother brought home from working at the library.

Tim’s last solo record ‘Not Cool’ (Thirty Tigers) was summed up perfectly in American Songwriter with this 4 star review.

“…if there was ever an album you’d want to extend to twice as long, it’s this corker. So roll up your jeans, grab your favourite guy or gal, hop in the convertible, and let Tim Easton take care of the rest.”

Tim Easton’s new album, AMERICAN FORK (Out 2nd Sept), is a playfully radical call to action for all listeners to abandon apathy. What the ears have here is a live band kicking it on the studio floor, more melodic twists and turns than any previous recording by Easton, as well as the first saxophone hook on any of his records!

“I am a fan of the change-up pitch. My aim is to prod a fork in the somewhat predictable Americana format.”

American Fork has elaborate arrangements with sing-a-long choruses, penetrating lyrics, and the finest backing band any Nashville songwriter could want, including the drummer Jon Radford (Justin Townes Earle, Steelism), bassist Michael Rinne (Rodney Crowell), pedal steel wizard Russ Pahl (Ray Lamontagne, John Hiatt), and multi-instrumentalist Robbie Crowell (Deertick, Turbo Fruits).

Ags Connolly

One of the UK’s finest Country Singers

Ags Connolly is a traditional country singer-songwriter from Oxfordshire, England. Country is the simplest description, but Ags is a proud supporter of the ‘Ameripolitan’ movement, which supports new music with a roots influence, away from the modern incarnation of country that exists today (you know the stuff…).

Having attempted to write songs for years, Ags found the confidence to take it seriously after attending a workshop with Nashville super-musician Darrell Scott. Since then he’s built a reputation as an inspired songwriter at major festivals and as a constant presence on the touring circuit. As well as regular headline shows, Ags has opened for artists such as Rosanne Cash and Corb Lund and has also undertaken a southern-states US tour with a full band.

Ags’ influences come essentially from hardcore country songwriters like David Allan Coe, Johnny Paycheck and Dale Watson. However, he also takes major singer-songwriter influences from the likes of Guy Clark, Loudon Wainwright III and Chris Knight.

Ags’ debut album ‘How About Now’ was released on Drumfire Records in February 2014, receiving rave reviews including being named ‘Album of the Month’ in Country Music People magazine and being heralded as “a masterpiece” by Maverick magazine. Country Music People magazine also named the song ‘When Country Was Proud’ as one of the Top 50 country songs from the last 30 years.

“One of the best records you are likely to hear this year…so strong is Connolly’s writing, dare I suggest that Ags Connolly is the closest we’ve ever come to an English Willie Nelson? Yes, he’s really that good, and his voice is unique.” Duncan Warwick, Country Music People (5/5, Album of the Month)

“‘How About Now’ is a masterpiece of British country” Maverick (4/5)

“A compelling debut.” Independent on Sunday (4/5)

“One of the most promising new talents on the Brit country scene.” Record Collector (4/5)
