Ben & Tom Waters bring their electrifying show to theatres across the UK — now performing as an award-winning trio with special guest percussionist James Larter. This is music played the way it should be: live, dangerous, joyful and full of heart.

Ben Waters is internationally known as one of the UK’s most explosive boogie-woogie and rock ’n’ roll pianists — a performer whose high-energy style has taken him around the world and onto stages with some of the biggest names in music.

Tom Waters is a Royal Academy of Music graduate and formidable saxophonist whose sound spans blues, soul, funk and rhythm & blues. From the raw power of Big Jay McNeely to the groove of Maceo Parker and the sophistication of David Sanborn, Tom brings fire, authority and huge musicality to every performance.

Tom first stepped on stage with his dad just before his eighth birthday. Seventeen years later — after world touring, thousands of gigs and even leaving school for three years to tour internationally — the musical connection between them is close to telepathic. Between them they have played and shared stages with The Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck, Ray Davies, Rod Stewart, Mick Hucknall, Dave Stewart, Johnny Depp and many more.

For this tour they will be joined by award-winning percussionist, drummer and multi-instrumentalist James Larter, adding a thrilling new rhythmic dimension to the show.

James Larter

James Larter is one of the UK’s most versatile and in-demand percussionists, known for his extraordinary rhythmic imagination and ability to move seamlessly across musical genres.

A graduate of both the Royal Academy of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, James has built an international reputation as a soloist, session musician and composer. His work ranges from contemporary classical performances to collaborations with major artists and producers across the worlds of pop, jazz and experimental music.

He has played and recorded with artists including Sampha, Berlioz and Gang of Youths, and has worked alongside legendary producers Tony Visconti (David Bowie, Marc Bolan & T. Rex), Dave Okumu (Amy Winehouse, Jessie Ware, Tony Allen) and Chris Kimsey (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones).

James has also appeared with some of the world’s leading orchestras and ensembles including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, St Petersburg Ballet and English National Opera, and has performed Richard Rodney-Bennett’s Marimba Concerto live on BBC Radio 3 with the BBC Philharmonic.

Having collaborated musically with Tom Waters for many years, James now joins the show on drums and percussion, bringing explosive groove, colour and virtuosity to the trio’s sound.
